ICHRA MLR REBATE PROCESS

Effective in 2025, beginning with MLR carrier rebates for the 2024 plan year, rebates for ICHRA members that have their monthly premiums funded through an employer sponsored bank account will be sent directly to the employees via check.  This applies to both active and terminated members eligible for a rebate.

Active ICHRA members that pay their premium from a personal bank account will receive a credit on their account towards their next premium payment.  Terminated members will receive their rebate via check.

Previously, we issued a credit to any member (regardless of pay model) eligible for an MLR rebate that still had an active policy and sent checks only to terminated members.  We cannot issue a check or credit to the ICHRA employer group, the policy owner must receive the rebate.

[We are typically made aware of which of our carrier partners will have an MLR rebate by late July and rebates are issued by early September.   If you are an ICHRA employer or TPA and you need a copy of employee’s rebate amounts, please reach out to our team at ichra@hsainsurance.com.]
