Tufts Health Direct and Tenet Healthcare - November 1 Update

Tufts Health Direct has provided the following information to HSA Insurance regarding Tenet Healthcare.

·      We have been engaged in contract discussions with Tenet Healthcare over the last several months. Despite our best efforts, we have not reached agreement with Tenet Healthcare’s facilities, including St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester and MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham.

·      There is nothing you need to do at this time. 

·      If we fail to reach an agreement by midnight on December 31, 2024, our members will no longer have access to their facilities; however, our members can still see their providers at other points of care, and still visit Tenet Healthcare’s emergency departments.

·      At this time, our top priority is to minimize any disruption of care for our members who may be impacted by these changes. All the potentially affected members will receive a letter notifying them of the potential facility termination, including details on where to seek alternate care, details on our Continuity of Care (CoC) policies, as well as how to reach our Member Service teams for additional questions.

·      We continue to work diligently with Tenet Healthcare on a resolution. The decision to terminate providers from our product networks is never made lightly, as we know thesechanges can be difficult for our members. Our goal is to always provide ourmembers with high-quality, affordable coverage. Unfortunately, the currentpayment rate demands from Tenet Healthcare are simply not sustainable.
