Compass Medical Closure

On May 31st, Compass Medical, a physician owned and directed medical organization, announced it was shutting down all six of its Massachusetts locations. We understand the difficulty this presents to our members and are monitoring and assessing the situation. As new information becomes available, we will share updates for our members and broker partners through both email communications and our website. Our Customer Service Team is also available to share information or look into any issues or concerns you may have.

The current situation is as follows:

• The Compass Medical website, compassmedical.net, is expected to be updated as more information becomes available. This includes information on how you might be able to continue care with your primary provider.

• Some Compass Medical providers have moved to Atrius Health.

o The Atrius Health website, https://www.atriushealth.org/landing-page/compass-medical, has additional information identifying those providers that have moved to Atrius Health.

o IMPORTANT: You must check to confirm that Atrius Health is in your current plans network prior to accessing services with your provider that moved to Atrius Health.

• Steward Medical Group has established a dedicated hotline for Compass patients seeking a new provider. The number is (508)630-7280.

• The HSA Insurance Customer Service Team can assist you with finding a new provider by calling (781)228-2222.

• If you are contemplating a provider change, please remember to verify that your new provider is in your plans network.

• If you have an emergent need to fill a prescription, please contact your pharmacy. In many cases the Compass Medical providers have ordered prospective prescriptions when appropriate or allowable.

• You can call the Compass Medical main campus line at (508)350-2000 for emergent prescription refills or test results.

• For immediate medical attention, please go to the emergency room or urgent care.

HSA Insurance sent out a written update by email to all brokers and clients on June 5.
