We’re pleased to announce that the combination between Tufts Health Plan and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care has received all the necessary regulatory approvals and has officially closed, effective as of January 4, 2021. We are now one combined organization. We are excited about the future and the value our new organization will bring to our members, customers, providers and partners in the community. Moving forward, we will maximize the combined strength of our heritage organizations to help keep high-quality health care accessible and affordable. At the same time, we will continue to invest in programs and initiatives that enhance the quality of care and deliver a superior experience for our customers. While we are now officially one organization, both of our brands and their products will remain in the market for a period of time as we work to transition our technologies and processes. In addition, to help minimize disruption for our accounts and members, the benefits, programs and services they currently rely on will not change during this transition period.Our commitment to serving the community
We will remain a mission-driven nonprofit organization, unequivocally committed to serving people of all socioeconomic backgrounds. Our Foundations are dedicated to corporate citizenship and will continue to proactively support the health and well-being of the diverse communities we have the privilege to serve. We understand the importance of communicating with all our stakeholders. Our heritage organizations are known for working collaboratively with you and our commercial and Medicare customers, and that will continue in our new organization. We look forward to sharing more information with you in the coming months as we reach additional milestones.
